"Better Opportunities"

As a young Maori male (age 18-21) with the world at my fingertips I found myself with no career direction. I studied at tertiary for 2 years after leaving school with the hope it would lead to employment and a career. Sadly the lack of support with various organisations through a critical time of my life was absent, and I found myself in an unenviable position of having to find quick employment to pay for everyday expenses, having moved out of home at an early age. This experience in hindsight resonated with me and I became determined to change the fortunes of others as to the availability of organisations to bridge the void and become the link.  I have employed the services of my daughter with her background in commerce and together we plan to forge the way forward for people with varying backgrounds regarding access to employment and better opportunities.

"Business is My Passion"

Kia ora, my name is Alyssa Ngatai I am currently in my 3rd year at Victoria University studying a conjoint 'Commerce and Science degree, majoring in management and ecology. Business has been a passion of mine for some years now.

I first had the idea of becoming a business woman when I was challenged to create my own business at secondary school and compete in an Young Enterprise competition nationwide having won the regional competition.

This inspired me to continue looking at this field as a career and further my expertise in this sector. Look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead with 'Vision Workz Limited'

"The Flow-on Affect"

In any business a good team is crucial. Covid-19 has simply highlighted the importance of having a job or career that is sustainable throughout such a pandemic. A lot of people have had to suddenly change careers, or re-learn another.

At the moment our forestry industry is at an all time high, and "why?" you ask. Because with the Government passing a policy to be "Carbon Neutral by 2030" this means industries that will have an impact on reducing carbon are now in demand! Growing trees vacuum carbon dioxide in the air and store it.

So what does this mean? It means there will be a flow on affect. Anything related directly, or indirectly to forestry will benefit, i.e. timber manufacturing, housing, engineering, trades and services, retail, and even farming.
